Maitake

Maitake is a polypore mushroom & the underside of it's cap (or frond) is made up of tiny pores instead of gills. These delicate, velvety fronds emerge from a stem & branching structure similar to that of cauliflower.

A Maitake bouquet can be sliced or torn & added to everything from omelettes, soups, sauces & everything in-between. If new to Maitake, we recommend sauteing with seasoning and butter to experience the incredible nuances of this versatile mushroom. Guaranteed to imbue a unique peppery, earthy flavour & a succulent texture to any recipe.
